Accessing the Assessments Module

Prev Next

Overview

Required Permissions

You must be an Org Admin enable the Assessments module, and you must have the "View OR Edit Assessments" permissions to see the Assessments module once it has been enabled.

The Nucleus Assessments module is designed to help organizations manage penetration testing workflows within the context of their vulnerability management program, and to solve the challenges of delivering pen test results to the TVM team for prioritization.

Because the Nucleus Assessments module is not required for every organization, you'll need to enable it for your Organization.

A user with Org Admin permissions is required to enable the Assessments module for you, and to then assign you a role with access to Viewing/Editing Assessments.

Enable Assessments

Step 1 is to have the org admin enable the Assessments module at the Organization level. This walkthrough follows the Set Up an Organization support article.

  1. Org Admin should go to "Global Administration > Orgs"
  2. Find your Org name in the list (should usually only be one name listed, unless you are an MSSP customer).
  3. Click the "Edit" button.
  4. In the pop-up, scroll down to the bottom until you see the "Enable Assessments" checkbox.
  5. Enable the checkbox and then click "Save".

The Assessments module is now enabled and will appear once you refresh the browser.

Add user permissions to Assessments

You now need to make sure your users can see the Assessments module. By default, the Org Admin will be able to see Assessments automatically, but you'll need to add your regular users to the correct permissions.

Step 1 - Create a role with Assessments permissions

Follow the steps here to create a custom role with Assessments permissions: Create Custom Role

Step 2 - Give users correct role

Now that you have a role created with the Assessments permissions defined, follow the user management guide here to give a user access to that role within a Nucleus project: User Management.
