Asset Inventory Sync

Prev Next

Overview

The first step of any good vulnerability management program is to know your assets and maintain a current and complete asset inventory. Nucleus enables you to ingest your asset inventory from many of the existing tools you currently use to track and maintain your asset information through asset Connectors.

To sync your asset data from these tools into Nucleus, you need to use an Asset Inventory Sync rule on the Automation page.

Note

You'll first need to set up an Asset Inventory connector, such as AWS EC2 or ServiceNow, before you can use this automation. For the full list of supported Asset connectors, please see our integrations page.

Import asset data

  1. From within a Project, navigate to the Automation page.

  2. On the Asset Inventory Sync panel click the Add Rule button.

  3. On the first step of the Add Asset Sync Rule pop-up, enter a name for the rule and then select an asset inventory connector you've previously created and click Next.

  4. On the second step, select the groups of assets from the available tables, sites, regions, or locations that you would like to import and click Next.

  5. On the third step, you can select filters to only import a subset of assets into Nucleus.

*You can import all assets or use asset matching rules to choose which assets to import.

  6. Finally, select the schedule to sync your assets to Nucleus. This is the schedule Nucleus will use to automatically sync and update your asset inventory to the platform to keep your asset inventory within Nucleus current.

  7. Click Save & Finish.

You are all done! You are now syncing your assets to Nucleus!
